JBX

A note from Jango

I'm building Juicebox so independent projects can fund their work and share the value they create. Think of it as the “pay” and “cash out” functions of the open internet: a standard, self-sustaining interface that open-source businesses, campaigns, and indy projects can plug into across any number of platforms.

Juicebox lets folks easily access, operate, and extend their money and incentives to help them raise money, manage revenues, compete in the market, build loyal communities, and stand the test of time, all on their own terms. It's the financial framework I've always wanted for building apps, platforms, and products.

Time to get the right investors together and double down.

JBX overview

Juicebox has helped folks raise over $200m since July of 2021.

Mechanics

JBX launched in July 2021 through Project #1 on Juicebox protocol V1. The Juicebox protocols have always treated investors and fee payers the same: direct payments and protocol fees paid into the project receive JBX under the same issuance and reserved-token rules.

The project ran in 14-day funding cycles. Each cycle set the JBX issuance rate per ETH and a reserved rate: the share of newly issued JBX allocated to contributors, with the remainder going to the payer. An issuance cut reduced the rate at the start of each new cycle.

The initial issuance rate was 1,000,000 JBX per ETH: 900,000 to the payer and 100,000 reserved. Early cycles used 20%, then 16% and 10% in 2021; by July 2023, the cut was 0.5% per 14-day cycle. The buyback mechanism was added in October 2023. Issuance was later set to zero: payments on earlier versions buy back existing JBX rather than minting new tokens.

The reserved rate began at 10%, rose to 25% in cycle 2, and was 35% by November 2021, then 50%, with roughly three quarters of that reserve allocated to the DAO. These allocations rewarded contributors as funding and fee revenue grew and built the DAO's JBX balance sheet for future incentives.

V2 and V3 introduced newer JBX token versions. Legacy balances migrate 1:1; migration does not increase the combined supply.

The proposed fundraise below sells existing JBX earned by the DAO through reserved token issuance and held on its balance sheet. It does not mint new JBX or dilute existing holders.

The DAO multisig still owns the Juicebox V1 and V3 projects and can mint additional JBX, diluting holders. It has never used this discretionary privilege. The intent is to relinquish it while preserving legacy migration; this has not yet happened.

More recent protocol versions route fee revenues to revnets, including JBP6 (Juicebox Protocol V6) and REV (Revnet Network). The intent is to route those revnets' token issuance directly to weekly claims for JBX holders.

Governance

The DAO has always governed publicly under ratified rules: JBX holders discuss and vote on proposals, and the multisig executes approved decisions.

Governance of funds has always involved scheduling payouts from the Juicebox projects that issue JBX. JBX holders retain a claim on treasury funds in excess of those payout commitments through the protocol's native cash out rules.

Governance and the multisig are hardly used these days, as all funds have been successfully spent over the years. The intent is to remove governance and the multisig from the equation entirely, automating incentives and operations through revnets as described in Mechanics. No more DAO, just revnets.

These are whole-pool balances at the same Ethereum block above. Each verified liquidity owner’s share is included with their other JBX in the holder table. WETH is wrapped ETH. Estimated pool values price JBX at each pool's spot rate. V3 balances include fees and positions outside the current price range; they do not quote how much a trade can receive. About pool liquidity.

Coverage and price source

Pool coverage includes all 3,306 holder addresses and standard JBX/WETH fee tiers. Refresh checks new holders and canonical factory creation events, then re-verifies every pool's registration and balances. The Uniswap V4 PoolManager holds no current or legacy JBX at this block. This view covers Ethereum and the two JBX ERC20 generations in the holder query. NFT positions follow their current owners; V2 and Bunni shares follow their token holders. Contract owners are not assumed to be individuals. Bunni shares include uncollected fees after a provision at the current protocol-fee rate; these underlying assets may require future compounding and are not an immediate withdrawal quote. Pool remainders retain protocol-fee provisions, locked liquidity, rounding and other unassigned assets.

WETH values use Chainlink ETH/USD at $2,447.34 per ETH, updated 15:36:47 UTC. Exact balances, pool registrations and validation evidence are in the snapshot.

Revenue

Revenue has come in waves, mostly from larger projects that Juicebox has facilitated. Activity and fees slowed as we returned to building the infrastructure needed for the next wave, prioritizing security, sturdiness, and scalability over growth.

The figures track protocol fees since deployment in July 2021. They exclude funds raised by projects.

Total revenue since Jul 2021$4,488,390
$0$642,292$1,284,585$1,926,877$2,569,170Jul 2021Jan 2022Jul 2022Jan 2023Jul 2023Jan 2024Jul 2024Jan 2025Jul 2025Jan 2026Oct 2026

Strengths

  1. Me, jango. My full attention and commitment to the mission. I'm lead author of the protocol contracts, having focused on evolving them towards security and extensibility from the start. I've directed the organizational ship since the start, I've advised many of the projects on how they should run their operation, and I now lead all web client work alongside my AIs.

  2. Brand. Recognition and trust from the crypto community, approachable to newcomers, and flexible in support of many domains.

A track record of facilitating iconic internet moments like ConstitutionDAO, important campaigns like the Tornado Cash legal defense fund and AssangeDAO, and frontier research funds like CryoDAO and BiohackerDAO.

  3. Protocol. The omnichain V5 of the protocol was deployed last year, allowing projects to have a unified balance-sheet-backed token across EVM chains. The AI-hardened V6 was deployed in June 2026 and has allowed me to trust the foundation sufficiently to now spend my time helping platforms (like Artizen, RIP) grow, and build frontier experiments of my own (like plugin.money).

Juicebox.money is a canonical platform, but I think the protocol shines as bedrock for many platforms, each catering to its specific audience and needs, all interoperable behind the scenes. I've got connections to many such well-led platforms being planned around space research and life sciences, and I'd like to help prop up more.

  4. Community. Though Juicebox does not currently staff anyone, many folks who have found Juicebox and contributed to it over the years are giants. The ecosystem has attracted those who don't cut corners, are adamant about their values, want to take on responsibility, and have the entrepreneurial bug. This community has our back and we should continue to have theirs.

  5. Revnets let a business set its financial rules in advance, while an operator leads execution and investors and customers (humans or AIs) share its incentives.

The V6 protocol's business itself runs as a revnet, collecting a 2.5% fee on eligible outbound funds and issuing its tokens to fee payers, giving them a stake in the protocol's future.

Opportunities

  1. JBX. The DAO's 2021 JBX raise funded years of protocol research and development. We've spent little time focused on JBX growth; protocol security, sturdiness, and scalability have taken priority. We've brought in over $1m in revenue, mostly tied to larger projects that Juicebox has facilitated. Growth has come in waves, with clear infrastructure needs often bringing us back into build mode.

With the release of our AI-hardened Juicebox V6, we're now set to go all in on ecosystem growth and connect JBX stakers directly to ecosystem tokenized revenues, while maintaining a balance with security as our number one priority.

The proposed JBX arrangements are below.

  2. Crypto and AI tailwinds. As software and content become more abundant, it becomes harder to find, fund, and reward useful work. Juicebox is the most productive backbone of platforms that serve specific communities, with performance rewards built in. We need to help produce these platforms.

  3. Org structure. I want to keep the core small and put new funds into independently led projects with their own business models. We'll use Juicebox and revnets to set clear terms for those investments.

Though security remains the core value proposition for the core protocol, the “core team” is porous and includes entrepreneurially driven ecosystem projects.

  4. Investor relations. Juicebox's network is healthiest with great businesses, campaigns, and projects on one side and great capital allocators on the other. We already have strong relationships with great projects. We have a ton of room to improve on the investor relations side. I'm looking for investors who share our open-source values and can help us raise capital, build relationships, and support ecosystem businesses.

  5. IRL. We'd benefit from exploring and experimenting with legal structures, real estate investment concepts, hardware and robotics monetization, and payment terminals for community retail with baked-in loyalty points.

I've got ideas here, a handful of high-fidelity prototypes, and connections to people who push on these fronts.

Fundraise

I'd like to raise $2.17 million for two years of building and investing in independent projects.

I will propose budgets and spending. An independent board will approve them. We'll report what we fund, what the funding produces, and what we learn.

The two-year goal is $1 million in combined JBP6 and REV revnet balances, supported by use of the Juicebox infrastructure and revnet business model.

Proposed JBX valuation
$25 million
Sale inventory
Existing JBX held by dao.jbx.eth
Buyer receives
Liquid JBX on Ethereum, with no sale lockup
Staking rewards
Optional, separate from the purchase

Other top-ten holders may also sell JBX; their proceeds are separate from this raise.

Revenue-backed-token distributions

We plan weekly claims of ecosystem revenue for JBX stakers, funded by JBP6 and REV token allocations. Other projects can contribute tokens too. Tokens left unclaimed expire after two years.

The sale and staking mechanism are being prepared.

If this resonates, reach out.
